PEOPLE | | Public Employees Organized for Political & Legislative Equality
For public employees, the people we elect determine the qualiy of our lives and our livelihood. Our wages, benefits, working conditions, health and safety, and even whether we have jobs at all, are in the hands of officials who influence our future. Unless, that is, we hold them accountable. Our activism in politics is incredibly important.
We are seeing direct results of that in Wisconsin right now with the recall elections, advertising, busses and the building of unprecedented coalitions. The governor wanted this finished in 7 days. We have stood strong for over 90 days!
The PEOPLE program pools our money to help us establish equality with corporate America.
Just a small amount each month makes a lot of difference.
Sign up today by going to www.wseu-24.org. You can do it at the same time you sign up to be a member.
THANK YOU!

You can also write letters to the editor, op-ed pieces, or blog posts telling your story and why you think legislators should work on creating a budget that HELPS Wisconsin families rather than hurting them. Talk to your friends and neighbors about how this affects us all. We're a truly grassroots movement!

Find out just how much the budget repair bill will affect your take home pay.
Download a copy of the "concession calculator" and fill in the green spaces.
This calculator is specially designed for dues-paying represented classified staff. It is best used to give you an estimate of the affect this bill will have on you and your family over a year's time.
UW System has provided a calculator, as well, available at: http://www.uwsa.edu/hr/benefits/budgetBillEstimator/index.php
This calculator is more generic and provides a more detailed estimate of how this bill will affect individual paychecks. It does not include deductions from furloughs or union dues.

WE ARE NOT ALONE in our fight against the Budget Repair Bill and the attack on collective bargaining in Wisconsin. Council 24 has issued a letter to all of its members. We have also accumulated links to the websites of groups who have come out in opposition of this bill and their press releases:
